Natural Dye Workshop — Spring edition 🌼

€80.00

With Carlota Simó

Hosted in Carlota Simó’s garden studio in Valldoreix, just outside Barcelona, you’ll spend the morning working with seasonal plants—margarita, ginesta, eucalyptus—and learning how to recognize them, where to find them, and what appears throughout the year.

The dye pots will be prepared in advance, so the focus can stay on the process itself: using these plants to create natural color and experimenting directly on fabric. You’ll be guided through simple techniques, while also having space to explore and see how colors shift and develop over time.

Each participant will work on a cotton bandana (included), and is invited to bring three to four personal items from home—clothing or textiles you’d like to refresh, transform, or simply experience in a new way.

This session is an opportunity to spend time outside, working with your hands, and paying closer attention to what’s growing around you.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a small collection of naturally dyed pieces, and a deeper understanding of how to work with seasonal plants as a source of color.

About the artist

Artist and maker Carlota Simó works with plant-based dyes, textiles, and natural materials. Trained in Fine Arts in London, her early practice centered on sculpture and metalwork before gradually shifting toward a slower, land-connected approach to making. Living in rural Catalonia, she combines her artistic practice with gardening, creating naturally dyed quilts and leading workshops that explore craft, plants, and the collective act of making.
