Chair Restoration Workshop

With Audrey Pogu

In a wood workshop in Barcelona, Audrey invites you into her studio for a hands-on introduction to the art of restoration and repurposing. Surrounded by tools, materials, and pieces waiting to be transformed, you’ll spend a few focused hours learning how to bring new life to a second-hand chair.

Throughout the workshop, Audrey will guide you step by step through the process: preparing the surface, staining or painting the wooden structure, applying a protective finish, and reupholstering the seat from a curated selection of fabrics. Her intention is not only to teach practical techniques, but also to share the thoughtful craft of working with existing objects — slowing down, observing materials closely, and discovering the beauty of giving something old a new story.

By the end of the session, you’ll leave with a renewed chair ready for your home — and with a deeper appreciation for the craft, patience, and creativity that lives within restoration.

About the artist

Audrey Pogu is a French maker based in Barcelona and the founder of Siempre Studios, a furniture restoration studio dedicated to giving second-hand pieces a new life.

She grew up in the countryside, where many evenings were spent in her father’s workshop experimenting with scrap wood and tools — an early introduction to the joy of making things by hand. Years later, when she moved into a long-term home in Barcelona with her partner, she began furnishing it with restored thrifted pieces, discovering the beauty and potential hidden in vintage furniture.

What started as a personal project soon grew into Siempre: a space where Audrey sources and restores second-hand furniture and home objects, transforming them into unique pieces for modern interiors. Her mission is to make beautiful, character-filled furniture accessible while offering a more sustainable alternative to buying new.
